~ Diesel Service Facility ~
The newest area on the layout is a Diesel Service Facility. Five tracks make up the facility. Two scratch built maintenance structures and a scratch built sanding and fuel platform make this a unique feature on the MANNM Railroad. A yard office was also scratch built to mimic a portable trailer that was converted into an office. The area is fully lighted including scratch built signals. Asphalt and chain link fencing define the boundry of the facility.

Buildings
Each structure was made from wood and then covered in corrugated aluminum paneling. Plastic angle was used at the corners to make a nice edge. The windows and doors are from Grandt Line and the raised lettering is from Plastruct. The buildings have white LEDs to mimic shop lighting. Numerous safety banners and details are inside each structure. Safety signs on the exterior are from Microscale.
The yard office is made out of stained wood. Additional wood trim pieces were applied around the windows and lower skirting to replicate what is seen on temporary trailers. A handicap ramp and air conditioner were scratch built. The building has a complete interior and is lighted. The roof is made out of asphalt shingles.
Sanding Racks
The sanding rack was scratch built from an assortment of plastic and brass. The sanding structure, along with the maintenance platforms, are built in seven pieces so that the structure can be removed when not on display.
